How are memories like a river?

How are memories like a river?
Memories are like a river because they both flow through your mind and downstream. The memories and thoughts flow through your mind constantly with either new ideas or past memories of your life. Like the water flowing down a river and the water cycle, memories are usually something we have thought of before; they just come through our minds from time to time. At times, thoughts go through our minds at high speeds or at a slow steady pace just like a river. Thoughts will cycle around your in your mind many times just like the cycle of water. Memories are thoughts that we tend to remember vividly, they are just stored somewhere deep in your mind and come out only when you sense or feel something that reminds you of your memory.
